We’ve got a full month of community, competition, recovery, and new opportunities to grow together. Here’s everything happening at Clutch this April.
March was packed with effort, courage, and community. We want to congratulate every athlete who stepped up, showed up, and represented Clutch City with pride.
Huge congratulations to all athletes who competed and to every spectator who came out to cheer. Your energy made those weekends unforgettable.
Shoutout to our HYROX athletes who took on one of the toughest hybrid fitness races out there. Your grit and teamwork were incredible.
Long miles, long hours, and big heart — you represented CCCF with resilience and unity.
We loved seeing so many of you stay active over Easter weekend. Whether you ran for time or for fun, you showed up strong.
This month we’re proud to highlight Alban as our April Athlete of the Month.
Alban has been the definition of consistency, humility, and quiet leadership inside our walls. He shows up ready to work, embraces every challenge, and continues to grow in strength, skill, and confidence. Whether it’s a tough lifting day, a long conditioning piece, or a partner workout, Alban brings steady effort and a positive attitude that lifts the room.
He leads by example — not loudly, but powerfully — and we’re grateful to have him as part of the Clutch family. Congratulations, Alban! Full Story Here: April Athlete of the Month
We’re kicking off two new training cycles designed to help you build strength, skill, and confidence:
This cycle is designed to raise the technical ceiling of your Olympic lifts. The focus is simple: move better, receive stronger, and build confidence under the bar.
We are not chasing maxes. Instead, we’re developing:
Skill
Speed
Positional strength
These are the foundations that make heavier lifts happen naturally.
2 Olympic lifting sessions per week
1 strength anchor per week
Alternating squat‑based and power‑based lifts to manage fatigue
Built‑in complexes for quality reps without extending class time
Strength sessions capped at 20 minutes to protect class flow and recovery
By the end of the cycle, athletes should feel:
More comfortable in the receiving position
More aggressive and confident in the pull
More stable under heavier loads
We will not begin this cycle with max testing. Athletes will work by feel or use previous performances to guide loading. In the final two weeks, if athletes look and feel good, they may build to a 1RM.
Alternating weekly between:
Handstand Walk Progressions
Rope Climb Technique & Strength
This cycle is built for all levels — from beginners learning the basics to advanced athletes refining efficiency and control.
A huge thank‑you to everyone who participated in our Carry Challenge. You showed up with grit, teamwork, and a willingness to push past comfort. Challenges like this remind us what makes Clutch special — the way you support each other, cheer each other on, and make hard things fun.
More monthly challenges are coming your way.
We’re starting something new at CCCF called GOD AS Rx — a space where faith, community, and support come together. We’ll meet 1–3 Saturdays a month around 8:45/9:00 AM, right before the 9:30 AM class.
Each gathering will begin with a short prayer, followed by time to share upcoming service opportunities and a space for anyone to ask for prayer or support for themselves or someone they know. This is a safe place for our athletes to talk, connect, and lean on each other.
We’ll also look for ways to serve beyond our gym — community workouts, donation‑based drop‑ins, and GOD AS Rx shirts to raise money for those in need.
To help everyone stay connected, I’ll be creating a WhatsApp group for GOD AS Rx. If you’d like to be added, please get with me (Coach Steven) so I can include you.
I’ll also set up a section in SugarWOD and Clutch's Website where you can see announcements, updates, and other information related to GOD AS Rx.
CCCF is more than a gym — it’s a family. And this is another way we continue to grow together.
8:45 AM (before the 9:30 class) Our first GOD AS Rx gathering begins this month. We’ll start with a short prayer, share service opportunities, and open the floor for anyone who needs support or wants us to pray for someone in their life. A safe space for connection, encouragement, and community.

Jose and I are excited to share that we’re launching the CCCF Run Club this May. With so many members signing up for 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and full marathons, we want to create a simple, accessible way for everyone to build consistency and confidence in their running.
Instead of adding new classes to the schedule, we’ll be integrating two running‑focused workouts each week directly into your Workout of the Day track. These workouts are designed for you to complete on your own, at your own pace, and on your own time.
Short‑ and long‑distance running workouts
Interval training
Pacing and aerobic development
Technique‑focused sessions
Workouts that support both new and experienced runners
These running workouts will be clearly labeled in SugarWOD so you can track your progress, stay consistent, and train alongside the rest of the community — even if you’re doing them independently.
We’re excited to support all of you preparing for upcoming races and to help build a stronger running culture inside Clutch.
If you’re running any of these events, let us know so we can highlight you and help others join in or come cheer.

Jose and I are excited to share that we’re working on launching Hybrid Endurance Training Classes — designed specifically for athletes preparing for HYROX, DEKA, and other hybrid/endurance performance races.
These classes are NOT traditional running classes for 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, or full marathons. Instead, they will focus on the unique demands of hybrid racing:
Machine work (Ski, Row, Bike)
Functional endurance (sleds, carries, wall balls, lunges, etc.)
Pacing strategies for multi‑station events
Strength endurance under fatigue
Race‑specific intervals and zone work
Movement efficiency for hybrid race stations
This program is built for athletes who want to improve their engine, sharpen their race‑day skills, and feel more confident heading into HYROX, DEKA, and similar events.
We’re planning to offer 2–3 classes per week, and we’d love your input as we finalize the schedule. We’re considering:
Early AM class
Mid‑morning or early afternoon class
Early evening class
Possible Saturday or Sunday mid‑afternoon option
This program will be offered as an add‑on to your regular unlimited membership. Pricing will be announced once everything is finalized.
We’d love your suggestions and feedback as we build this out — your input will help us shape a program that serves the community well.
Some of you may have noticed that we’ve been doing a bit of demo work around the gym to create extra space. We want to apologize for the dust and the temporary mess while we make these improvements.
Over the next couple of days or weeks, we’ll be moving equipment, reorganizing layouts, and adjusting the flow of the gym to make the space more functional and comfortable for everyone.
Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and flexibility while we get everything organized. These changes are all about giving you a better training environment, and we appreciate you rolling with us as we make it happen.
Help us celebrate our April athletes! Make sure to give them a big high‑five, a fist bump, or a birthday burpee (or ten).
Rohan — April 4
German — April 15
Nalleli — April 24
Kevin — April 26
Jillian — April 28
We’re grateful for each of you and the energy you bring to Clutch. Happy Birthday!
Please join us in giving a warm Clutch City welcome to:
Erin Ginsberg
Gabriella Rendon
We’re excited to have you both in the community. If you see them in class, introduce yourself and help them feel right at home.
