MENTAL TOUGHNESS. PACING. CCCF GRIT
This month is all about building mental toughness, pacing, and staying composed under fatigue. The goal is to help athletes learn how to breathe, move efficiently, and maintain a sustainable pace — not sprint and crash. It's about finding the highest sustainable pace and holding it for all 12 minutes.
Baseline Test: June 1st - 7th
Final: June 22nd - 28th
THE RULES
SCORING Total reps across all 12 rounds.
MOVEMENT Burpees are lateral, not bar‑facing.
*Rx athletes must jump over the bar; Scale athletes may step over the bar.
*Thighs and chest must touch the ground for all athletes.
TRACKING Log each round’s reps — not a running total. This helps you see pacing and drop‑off clearly.
BARBELL SET-UP
Any barbell may be used for the challenge, but you must use regular-size bumper plates and not the 2.5 or 5 lb change plates.
WINDOW Baseline test the week of June 1st
Final test the week of June 22nd
Success looks like:
Consistent pacing across all 12 rounds
Smooth, non‑stop movement
Minimal drop‑off late in the EMOM
Finishing strong in the final two rounds
Throughout June, CCCF will include:
One optional weekly conditioning piece to support the challenge
Additional burpee exposure in regular class programming
We will crown 2 total winners:
1 RX Winner
1 Scaled Winner
Winners will be determined by a combination of:
Highest Total Burpees Across All 12 Rounds
Most Consistent Pacing (smallest drop‑off from Round 1 to Round 12)
This rewards both output and discipline, not just sprinting early and fading late — fully aligned with the challenge’s focus on pacing and mental toughness.
To keep the challenge fair and consistent for everyone, all scores must be verified in one of the following ways:
You must record your entire test. Your video needs to clearly show:
Your full body performing the burpees
The barbell and plates (so weight and setup are visible)
A visible timer for all 12 minutes
Make sure the angle allows reps to be counted without question.
Please grab:
A coach, or
A fellow member
They will help judge your movement standards and count your reps for all 12 rounds.
This ensures everyone is held to the same standard and keeps the competition fair for both RX and Scaled divisions.
